Costa Teguise Golf Course

The Costa Teguise Golf Course is a golfer’s paradise in the true sense of the word. It has a beautiful volcanic landscape with a terrain that is meant to be both challenging and enjoyable. It has all the services and facilities required by professionals and novices alike. Best of all, it is blessed with a tropical climate that allows golfers to tee up all year long.

Costa Teguise Golf is the pioneer golf course in Lanzarote Island. It was built in 1978 and designed by the famous British landscape architect, John Harris. It is situated at the foot of a volcano, offering spectacular views of mountains, volcanic peaks, and the Atlantic Ocean. Its greens and fairways are surrounded by local plants, including over 3,000 gorgeous Canarian Date Palms. It is a breathtaking tropical oasis with no buildings in sight, and has been declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO.

The famous terrain of the Golf Course is more than a just tourist attraction. It is meant to be both smooth and varied, posing a challenge for professional golfers while still offering a fun experience for players with modest skills. Its numerous doglegs encourage players to bring all their clubs out into play. The volcanic sand, also known as “picon”, coupled with the constant Costa Teguise trade winds, adds to the unique and pleasurable game experience.

The 18 holes, par 72 course has been operational for over 30 years and remains as one of the best golf courses in Spain. There is a full range of golfing equipment for rent and for sale at the golf pro shop. Trollies, buggies, and storage are also available. It also has an excellent clubhouse fitted with restaurant, coffee bar, male and female changing rooms, and lockers for hire. Perhaps the best perk Costa Teguise Golf has to offer is the presence of a professional player who gives both private and group lessons. Playing a round of golf of at least 9 holes with a professional will enable him to fully assess a player’s skills and suggest improvements.

One major concern of most players is keeping their non-playing companions occupied while they enjoy their game. Beginners can try their hand at the driving range or putting green. Non-golfers can lounge in the café-restaurant, or go around the cycling track that was recently added to the course. The track spans a length of 5 kilometers and is a good place to bike, jog, or take a leisurely walk. There are also several local attractions located in Costa Teguise. The golf course lies at the edge of the resort, providing easy access to the beach, ocean, shops, and other tourist favorites.

Another main concern is the availability of golf tee times, particularly during the peak season ranging from November to March. Tee times can be booked in advanced through the Costa Teguise Golf Club or via an online booking facility, which offers discounted fees. Another way to secure good tee times is to join in the regular competitions that are open to the public.

The Costa Teguise Golf Course offers a lush green course, challenging terrain, professional golf services, and a warm climate with cool winds that allows for enjoyable game play any time of the year – truly a winning combination for any golfer!
